ANZAC

     ANZAC

ANZAC is an acronym word meaning Australia New Zealand Army corp. ANZAC is a day of New Zealander and Australians to remember men and women who have served their lives in the war. They celebrate it just like we celebrate Veterans and Remembrance Day.

To remember those who fought in the war and so we can  thank those who fought, risked and died in the first world war. Also to thank those who died for us from protected your land from enemies.

In N.Z we always celebrate it by a ceremony

which is very popular. We can also celebrate it by wearing poppies and giving money to a bucket that people do at a little stands at malls.

A dawn celebration is the most popular ANZAC tradition and A dawn celebration is when people has come to celebrate and remember those in war. It starts with a parade by servicemen and woman to the memorial were families and people meet each other.

The book ‘Whales’ is about a lot of facts about them. The Blue Whale is the biggest whale in the world but there are many types of whales. The blue whale weighs up to 160 tonnes that is 20 African elephants. Whale are not fish they are mammals. There are about 50 different species. Whales can be find in many parts of the ocean. Some whales eat plankton like the baleen whale also blue whales they eat six tonnes a day.

My favourite part in this book is when they tell us all the different types and how many there are. I think at all ages should read this book and I think that you will love it because it is very interesting and you can learn more about whale you can learn a thing or two.

Secret Safari

Rendered Image
In secret safari someone is hunting the rare black rhino for its useful horns. Nothing is as it seems. Special agent EJ12 will need to look below the surface if she is to stop more animals getting hurt. That was the easy part as EJ12, Emma Jacks can do anything.

My favourite part in this book is in the beginning when Emma Jacks has to wait for her friends also when she has to go and look for them. I think that this book should readed by 7 year old up to 13 year old.

Matilda

Matilda is a young girl that was  brought up by a family where they treated her as if she was never wanted. Her father was a crook who ripped people off by selling cars that weren't good. Her mother never paid any attention towards her, paying more attention to money and looking good. Then there was her brother who treated her bad. When Matilda at the age of 6 ½ years old,  her dad enrolled her in to school, where she met Miss Honey. A sweet, caring and wonderful teacher. And she meet Miss Tranball the principal. She was a mean, selfish and a despicable person. On the first day of school Matilda met a girl named Lavender and she was so kind to her.  They became best friends. At the end of the book Matilda moved in with Miss Honey and she lived happily ever after.

My favourite part in this books is when Matilda finds out that she has powers. I think that people at the age of 8 and up will like to read this and I think that you will love it because it is very interesting and it’s shows that a persons life can change for good with the right people in it.  By Maira
